As part of this year’s Maritime Festival, the City of Albany is creating a maritime themed citywide treasure hunt for children and we want your business/venue to be part of it. The Maritime Treasure Trail will lead children and their parents around the City visiting businesses, public spaces and other venues following the Treasure Trail map to search for the answer to a series of clues.

Once they find the answer, hidden in your business, you can stamp their Maritime Passport with one of the maritime stickers that the City will issue you with. When the children have a fully stamped passport they can hand it in at the Town Hall to claim their prize. Businesses can choose how they would like to participate in the ‘Maritime Treasure Map’. The City can issue the business with a clue and answer, or you can make up your own. For example, your business might want to have a maritime display in your window during the Festival that highlights a particular part of Albany’s maritime history. The clue for the Treasure Trail can relate to something in your display.

The possibilities are endless and can be driven completely by you. Like the ‘Maritime Menu Map’ the idea of this initiative is to promote your business and increase visitation to it. The Maritime Treasure Trail will be supported by a state wide marketing campaign to promote both the festival and your business. There is no cost to participate. Businesses are asked to complete the following Expression of Interest and return it to the City of Albany at maritimefestival@albany.wa.gov.au no later than the 15 March 2022. For further information, please contact maritimefestival@albany.wa.gov.au or phone 08 68203020.
